Oh... I forgot Merry Christmas, but have A Great New Year!

Haven't posted in a few days... busy with the holidays and such. Being on vacation makes you lazy and I don't need much prodding to do as little as possible. Have a great new year!

This is better news for us Longhorn fans...

From the Dallas Morning News...

Gilmer QB reverses field, commits to UT

11:35 PM CST on Thursday, December 28, 2006

Gilmer quarterback G.J. Kinne, who had been orally committed to Baylor, switched his pledge to Texas on Thursday night, according to Rivals.com.

Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a recruit in the Class of 2007 can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 7.

Kinne's switch comes eight days after top-rated QB John Brantley of Ocala, Fla., told Texas coaches that he was changing his commitment from UT to Florida.

Kinne, whose father Gary Joe is a linebackers coach at Baylor, had been interested in Texas, but the Longhorns never offered a scholarship after flirting with Texarkana Texas High's Ryan Mallett and Brantley.

Kinne (6-2, 207) did not return calls from The News on Thursday.

Say it ain't so, John Brantley!

Is John Brantley about to change his commitment to Texas? It certainly sounds like there is some doubt. This is a post at from Longhornnation.com -->

John Brantley's Headed To Florida (Maybe)

It's official --> Here!

However, this does not reek of the Ryan Perriloux debacle of a few years ago. Texas is in much better position to absorb this loss, however injuries and other defections could make this one tough. Colt McCoy's injury is certainly a concern as is the transfer of Jevan Snead to Ole Miss. I really think the coaches should have started Jevan in the A&M game. Colt was not his normal self - at least the normal self we had come to expect before the injury in the K. State game. That loss can be squarely pinned on the defense. The A&M game was a combination of bad defense and Colt not being up to par. Jevan plays and they win, then maybe he doesn't transfer. Again, he was just another injury away from being the starter, now he goes to Mississippi, has to wait a year to even play and he is no longer a Longhorn. I can't really fault him, but at the same time I think the coaches certainly should have given him the shot at A&M. They win that one and they were in a the Big 12 Championship game and possibly with another win, a BCS Bowl.

Geek to Live: iTunes power tips - Lifehacker

Great tips here! I think the ability to manage separate music libraries is a good one. I don't like keeping my Christmas music in my library, because if you listen to music like I do, that is in shuffle mode, then a Christmas song will likely infiltrate your daily listening in the middle of June! Although, I'm sure the marketers out there would like nothing more than for us to be thinking about Christmas all year long! The Christmas "season" seems to have crept into October in the last few years...

Have You Ever Tried to Sell a Diamond?

This is old, but just goes to show what a concerted marketing effort can do. Basically, a multi-billion dollar industry was created by simple marketing and the psychology of "want"...

If you have a big library of PS2 games and you were wanting a PS3, take a look at this. I would think that if Sony can fix this, then it is very irresponsible of them not too, much less shipping the PS3 in this state.

WorldNetDaily: Soy is making kids 'gay'

I hate this headline; it's too "sensational" for the actual argument this guy is making. How much truth? I really don't know, but he cites some research and makes some legitimate arguments. The other side of this, is the inherent ridicule that is incited when Christians make these types of assertions. Especially, in this day and age when there is actually an argument as to the use of the simple holiday greeting, "Merry Christmas."

Wired News: Blackjack: Jackpot, or Bust?

Thought this was a great review of the music playing abilities of a very new smartphone. Personally, I have a Cingular 2125 (same OS, Windows Mobile 5) but I also own an iPod. I just don't think a phone can be an everyday use DMP. I have used my phone for music and I carry a small collection of 64-bit WMA's on the miniSD card. That's another issue with phones, disk space is quite limited. Read on for details on this phone...

This is another cool app to get your iTunes album art. It works well, but I would suggest one fix the mp3 tags before starting to fix your album art. If the tags aren't right; the album art won't be either...
