So... New year, 26 days in and it's time to start some shtuff...

So here we are, almost a WHOLE month into 2009... Everything you read these days is about the failing (or failed!) economy, or about the new president, or, for this week, at least - the Super Bowl...

On the home front, high school soccer is under way. It's definitely a task these coaches have putting together teams of girls who play with diverse club teams... but somehow, they do it. It helps that the head coach at our school is also a club coach with the very successful Dallas Texans. His assistants, however, do not have this experience, and it shows... My daughter's coach yells a lot (especially at the better players...) but, I won't question his authority in front of the daughter... of course, she might read this! Anyway, the team is undefeated, save for a loss to Coppell in a scrimmage and a tie to Denton Guyer so I won't complain too much. The district schedule starts tomorrow! Good Luck, Mustangs!

Also, on the home front, I picked up a very nice Pentax K200D

Turns out, I left it at Southlake's Dragon Stadium and someone was kind enough to turn it in! Anyway, it's my birthday and I have always been into photography, so now I hope to make it paying hobby... I also intend to do more with this blog; so watch for some changes in the near future and maybe some extensions to the brand that is CASSAS.NET... lol...

Stupid Fox broadcast...

Image via Wikipediadid anyone notice when the fox announcer, who was pretty much terrible, pointed out that the referee was the FIRST black referee to officiate a BcS game? even my daughter, was like WTH??? is that REALLY relevant in 2009? during the coin flip, i noticed he was black, but so what? it wasn't something i should notice... for crying out loud, we elected a black president... if he's qualified, what difference does color make? i just thought it was an unnecessary reference. will the BcS make it a point to have an Hispanic referee next year? or if there has been one, was it duly noted during the broadcast? once again, it makes no difference...
